The Mobilization Team

Bev Bean

Bev has been involved in Christian education for the past 27 years. She spent four years with TeachBeyond as an elementary principal and then director of Sahel Academy in Niger.  Originally from Canada, Bev now lives in Missouri with her husband, Stuart. Bev enjoys reading a good book, drinking a hot cup of tea, and getting her hands dirty in the flower beds.

Christy Biscocho

Christy studied elementary education at Houghton College and has been involved in education ever since!  She has had a variety of experiences from middle school science to language learning, and has lived in four countries on four different continents! Christy joined TeachBeyond in 2013, and serves as a teacher trainer and mobilization coach. She enjoys being active and getting outside, being creative, and exploring new places with her husband, Mike.

Heather Brown

After graduating from Grove City College in 2010, Heather taught at Black Forest Academy in Germany for five years. When she returned to the States, she joined the mobilization team and now serves as Associate Director of Mobilization. Heather loves hosting people in her home, attending local events, and trying new coffee shops.

Callie Buchholtz

Callie started with TeachBeyond as a Resident Assistant at Black Forest Academy and now leads the department for Ministry Partner Development, which handles support raising. She is known for getting way too excited when talking about support raising, as well as drinking coffee nonstop.

Kelly Crandall

Kelly fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a missionary by moving to the Philippines upon graduation from Moody Bible Institute in 2014. She LOVED teaching middle school math and science at Faith Academy before returning to the States for grad school in 2017. She plans to return to the field when she completes her School Psychology program. Kelly is passionate about discipling younger women and serving missionaries on the field. Kelly works as the Associate Member Coordinator.

Juli Haupt

Juli graduated from Providence Theological Seminary with a Master’s in Christian Education. She has many years of international experience, having lived in Germany, India, England, and Russia, and having traveled to many other parts of the world. Juli enjoys the outdoors, traveling, gardening, time with her family, and coffee with friends.  She is also passionate about helping adoptive families thrive.

Mike Koerber

Mike began his journey in full-time missions through serving for three years at Black Forest Academy in Germany. After returning to the US and completing a master’s degree with a missions focus, Mike moved into the Director of Mobilization role in 2008. Mike, his wife Sharon, and their three active boys love living in Clarkston, a suburb of Atlanta which is a major refugee resettlement area.

Barb Loewen

Barb served in residence life at Black Forest Academy in Germany from 2003-2005. After returning home to Canada, she worked at Millar College of the Bible for six years and then Sunnybrae Bible Camp for three years. In 2015, Barb returned to TeachBeyond to serve on the mobilization team in Canada. Barb loves spending time with people and developing relationships, especially in the area of mentoring.

Cindy graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, and then taught at Sahel Academy in Niamey, Niger from 2009-2013. She joined the mobilization team in 2014. Cindy lives on a farm in South Dakota with her husband, Doug, and two step-children.

Genevieve Masterjohn

Genevieve graduated from Penn State in 2004 and has been involved in youth mentorship and education in various ways since then. Her current role as TeachBeyond Internship Coordinator gives her the opportunity to support missions and education while continuing to care for her four children. She enjoys nature walks, writing, and helping her children grow.

Elva Porter

Elva and her husband, Les, served with TeachBeyond at Black Forest Academy in Germany for 14 years before taking a two-year break to work with Souls Harbour Rescue Mission in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Elva has served with TeachBeyond as a music teacher, dorm parent, English Camp coordinator, and as part of a member care team in the past. In 2017, Elva joined the mobilization team. She enjoys connecting people with ministry opportunities and hearing how God is directing their lives.

Pete Sanderlin

Pete taught for 22 years in Istanbul, Turkey, before returning to the US and starting to work with TeachBeyond in 2011. His wife, Pam, works in TeachBeyond’s Global Communications Department, and they have one adult daughter. Pete enjoys floorball, running, reading, and fixing things that are broken.

Kimberly Smith

After Kim graduated from Eastern University in 2007, she moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the Department of Defense for seven years.  She now lives in Germany with her husband and enjoys exploring new places, reading, having impromptu home dance parties, and eating cookies.
