The Mobilization Team

Christy studied elementary education at Houghton College and has been involved in education ever since!  She has had a variety of experiences from middle school science to language learning, and has lived in four countries on four different continents! Christy joined TeachBeyond in 2013, and now serves as teacher trainer and US Associate Director of Mobilization. She enjoys being active and getting outside, being creative, and exploring new places with her husband, Mike.

Christy BiscochoJenkintown, PA

Josh joined TeachBeyond when he and his wife, Kelsey, served in Southeast Asia. For two years he worked to provide training to local students looking to study abroad in America. Currently Josh works with the mobilization team while studying for an MDiv. Josh enjoys being outside and active, especially playing any sport that includes a frisbee or disc of some sort.

Josh BreesePortland, Oregon

Kelsey joined the TeachBeyond team in 2016 when she and her husband, Josh, went to work at a school in Southeast Asia. There she taught music and other subjects to the local children and fell in love with TeachBeyond’s mission. Now that their time overseas is over, Kelsey and Josh have joined the mobilization team to recruit and help others to find their joy in missions. Kelsey loves all things chocolate and ice cream, as well as going hiking or playing board games with friends.

Kelsey BreesePortland, Oregon

After graduating from Grove City College in 2010, Heather began serving with TeachBeyond as a teacher at Black Forest Academy in Germany. When she relocated to Pittsburgh in 2015, she joined the mobilization team and now serves as Director of Mobilization. Heather loves hosting people in her home, attending local events, and trying new coffee shops.

Callie started with TeachBeyond as a Resident Assistant at Black Forest Academy and now leads the department for Ministry Partner Development, which handles support raising. She is known for getting way too excited when talking about support raising, as well as drinking coffee nonstop.

Callie BuchholtzChicago, IL

Since fifth grade, Meagan knew God wanted her to go to South Asia.  After completing her student teaching at William Carey Academy in Bangladesh, she knew that was where God wanted her to teach.  She graduated from Cedarville University and returned to WCA for six years, where she taught all ages and served as the Interim Administrative Director for a year.  Currently, Meagan is pursuing a Master’s in Christian School Education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Some of her favorite things are rickshaw rides, running, listening to music, catching up on Netflix, peanut butter, and elephants.

Meagan CarnsFort Worth, Texas

Juli graduated from Providence Theological Seminary with a Master’s in Christian Education. She has many years of international experience, having lived in Germany, India, England, and Russia, and having traveled to many other parts of the world. Juli enjoys the outdoors, traveling, gardening, time with her family, and coffee with friends.  She is also passionate about helping adoptive families thrive.

Juli HauptMount Pleasant, WI

Mike began his journey in full-time missions through serving for three years at Black Forest Academy in Germany. After returning to the US and completing a master’s degree with a missions focus, Mike became the Director of Mobilization in 2008 and now serves as the Global Director of Advancement. Mike, his wife Sharon, and their three active boys love living in Clarkston, a suburb of Atlanta which is a major refugee resettlement area.

Cindy graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, and then taught at Sahel Academy in Niamey, Niger from 2009-2013. She joined the mobilization team in 2014. Cindy lives on a farm in South Dakota with her husband, Doug, and two step-children.

Cindy LucasPlatte, SD

Elva and her husband, Les, served with TeachBeyond at Black Forest Academy in Germany for 14 years before returning to Canada to serve at Souls Harbour Rescue Mission in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 2017, she joined the mobilization team. In the past, Elva has served with TeachBeyond as a music teacher, dorm parent, English Camp coordinator, and member care. As Associate Director of Mobilization for Canada, she enjoys connecting people with ministry opportunities and hearing how God is directing their lives.

Elva PorterSalmon Arm, BC

Pete taught for 22 years in Istanbul, Turkey, before returning to the US and starting to work with TeachBeyond in 2011. His wife, Pam, works in TeachBeyond’s Global Communications Department, and they have one adult daughter. Pete enjoys floorball, running, reading, and fixing things that are broken.

Pete SanderlinBuena Vista, CO

After Kim graduated from Eastern University in 2007, she moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the Department of Defense for seven years.  She now lives in Germany with her husband and enjoys exploring new places, reading, having impromptu home dance parties, and eating cookies.
