‘Featured Five’ Opportunities #2

Part #2 in our 2016 Featured Five series:
a twice-a-month peek at five opportunities out of 300+ available through TeachBeyond

pagasasmTeaching can be so rewarding as you watch students improve and grow in understanding. And when students realize they’re learning and enjoying it, it’s a memorable day.

Hannah, an elementary teacher at Pag-asa Orphanage School in the Philippines, writes:

I teach to empower children, and getting to feel empowered back is a wonderful gift of that job. Days are made when a lesson about letter writing turns into an encouragement note from a fifth grade boy:

Dear Teacher Hannah,
Wow! You are really good at teaching. Do you know what? When you teach us something that is hard for us, you do not stop teaching us when we don’t understand. That’s why I’m amazed at you. That’s why I can understand and do harder! I’m really thankful to you so much!

There are many overseas opportunities with TeachBeyond, including working with students from the local culture. Below are five examples of openings with a similar ministry focus. For more, go to our Opportunities Board on our website.

Elementary Teacher

Pag-asa Orphanage School
The Philippines

Orphans are vulnerable in any culture, even more so in cultures where education is a privilege that only those who can afford to pay fees will enjoy.
Pag-asa Orphanage School (also called Project Pag-asa) seeks to address this need by offering high quality, bilingual education to the children of our partner orphanages. Do you have a heart for orphans? Do you have a heart for teaching children who have never had a chance to learn? Join us. Impact the lives of children. Impact the Philippines.
