Two schools in the TeachBeyond Family – Belize Christian Academy and BridgeWay North American School — are saying good-bye to their heads of school this summer.
Carolyn Hulse has been the principal of Belize Christian Academy (BCA) in Belmopan, Belize for the past five years. Belize National Director Andy Palm said, “Mrs. Hulse is a well-respected principal who has led BCA’s academics with excellence. Her attention to detail, extremely hard work ethic, and leadership skills have served our students, teachers, faculty, and staff well.” She will be missed by friends, colleagues, and students.
Belizean Minerva Blancaneaux has been appointed as the new principal of BCA. She begins August 1. Ms. Blancaneaux has been an educator for 15+ years. She is completing her Ph.D. thesis from Murdoch University in Australia.
David and Lisa Brownrigg have been at BridgeWay North American School in Mexico City since May, 2016. David served as the director until the end of June 2019. Greg Needham of Global Business Development has worked closely with David and said of him: “As our founding Director for BridgeWay North American School, David Brownrigg set a tremendous tone amongst the staff, families and students by modelling love and humility. BridgeWay was founded to bring children and families closer to the likeness of Christ and David’s pastoral approach for loving and serving people won over those that opposed this new beacon of light we call a school. He will be missed and will always be admired by the BridgeWay community.””
South African Kevin van Rensburg has been appointed as the new director. He and his wife Belinda have spent most of their lives serving God overseas, most recently as Secondary Principal in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. They served over 20 years in education in Paraguay and consider that home.
