How God blessed TeachBeyond in 2017

God continues to bless the transformational education ministry of TeachBeyond, and you can see confirmation of that in the 2017 Annual Report, which is available in English, German and Portuguese. We saw new partnerships with schools, expansion of facilities, development of new initiatives such as education for refugee children, and most importantly, students and national staff beginning to follow Jesus.

The number of full-time members grew from 534 to 590, and when we count the associates and short-term volunteers, we had more than 1,000 people serving with TeachBeyond.

We were blessed financially, too. Here are a few highlights:

    • Our English Camp ministry in Central Asia received an $11,000 grant from the Voice of the Martyrs in Canada to help fund camps where many heard the gospel for the first time.
    • A leading American-based foundation has continued their partnership with TeachBeyond’s work in Africa by generously supplying critical startup funds for a school we hope to launch in September 2018.
    • Our TeachBeyond Germany office raised €18,500 to continue the support of our strategic initiatives in Eastern Europe.

Our philosophy of holistic education, where God’s Word is woven into all aspects of the curriculum and not just taught in a Bible class, is gaining favor with educators. Teacher Education Services joined with Transformational Education Albania in April 2017 to present workshops on transformational education to more than 100 Christian teachers and school leaders. Most of these teachers work in public schools. A second annual conference in 2018 attracted almost 200 teachers. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, public school teachers asked to be included in a professional development class for our teachers in Fateb Kinshasa Academy. All around the globe, teachers are learning concepts and practices from TeachBeyond that they have not known.

The Annual Report is not only numbers, but also stories that show us what the power of a transformational message grounded on God’s Word means to individuals and their communities. Thank you for taking a few minutes to read it.
