TeachBeyond Partners with New School in Mozambique

TeachBeyond Partners with New School in Mozambique

Part of what makes TeachBeyond so exciting, is that we get to be a part of how God is working all over the world. As time goes on, our ministry reaches new people and in many different ways. Recently, TeachBeyond has expanded that mission even further, with a new partnership with Christian Academy in Mozambique.

Christian Academy in Mozambique (CAM) was started back in 1996, because of an expressed need for quality education from a Christian perspective. CAM is a K-12 school situated in the suburbs of Matola, Mozambique: a city with over 1 million people. Their main purpose is to use high quality Christ-centered education to transform the hearts of their students, families, and staff. This year, they host over 120 students representing 12 different countries.

Due to geographical, historical, and religious influences, the people of Mozambique have a typically secular worldview. It is a country in need of the Gospel, and the need for missional support is great. CAM supports missionaries by creating a safe-haven for these children and families who have come to share the Gospel in the country.

Recently, CAM was looking for a new partner ministry, and discovered TeachBeyond was a perfect match: both are intentional about giving teachers and students opportunities to make an impact in the community around the school. Biblical emphasis and the priority of the weekly chapel services are part of the fabric of CAM.

Duane Pass, Director at CAM, shared his excitement. “Partnering with TeachBeyond will help the school stay on mission about being transformational in its education, keeping Christ at the center of what it does.” Duane also says that the partnership will give CAM’s teachers greater access to professional and school development resources. Finally, he says they should be better positioned to attract missionary teachers to their school using TeachBeyond’s network.
