Our Growing Global Reach, Impact of Translation Team
“God is using translation to help TeachBeyond reach further and deeper in so many ways,” says Cathleen Guitierrez, Associate Regional Director for Latin America.
For the past several years, Arbor Christian Academy in the Dominican Republic has been using our 40 Days of Prayer initiative as part of their morning devotionals. The project aims to help people grow deeper in their spiritual life to become all that God intends and to experience transformation through prayer, community, the Word and practicing spiritual disciplines.
The 40 Days project is available in 5 languages: English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and German. Arbor Christian Academy is a bilingual English Spanish school. Early in 2026 a former staff member asked about the 40 Days project for this year. When they got the links for Spanish and English they invited their church to participate as well. Word got out into the community where there are also many Haitian families. They were able to access the devotionals in French. One school was having an impact on 3 different language groups.
“Without the efforts of the translation team working to present the material in people’s heart language, the impact would have been considerably diminished,” Cathleen notes.
Kayla Carson, Language Department Lead, has seen the requests for translation services grow exponentially over the past 2-3 years. “We started out 5 years ago doing PowerPoint or single documents. Our current requests tend to be much larger: typically entire courses worth of content.” Examples of larger requests include TeachBeyond’s Safeguarding policy, Sparrow Project curriculum, the Risk and Crisis Management training course, the Leadership Development Network course as well as legal documents such as Memorandums of Agreement, Letters of Intent and Partnership Agreements. There are also requests for bilingual websites for our schools and projects as well as our On Practice newsletter for teachers around the world. These all need to be in multiple languages to make them easily accessible to as wide an audience as possible.
“The primary goal right now is to better serve our creative access members,” Kayla notes. “We are working to expand into Vietnamese and Russian in the next 1-3 years, with Korean and Arabic being added in the next 3-5. We’d be happy to move faster than that if God brings us the right people sooner” she says with a gleeful grin.
There is a critical need for translators for our upcoming 40 Days of Prayer initiative that will begin in October. If you or someone you know may be interested to serve on a team using French, Spanish, German or Portuguese you can find more information here: Translation Specialist (Various Languages) - TeachBeyond.
