TeachBeyond Leaders’ Conference | April 25-29, 2024, Albania

TeachBeyond Leaders Conference | April 25-29, 2024, Albania

We gathered together, some able to drive a few minutes from their school, others flying for nearly 2 days to be there. The sense of anticipation in the room was palpable. TeachBeyond President David Durance asked us to take out our Leaders’ Conference program booklet and write on the cover “A Family Gathering.” And it was!

186 TeachBeyond leaders representing 24 passport countries and 45 countries of service, yet we were family. United by the call to be transformed and transformational as we follow Jesus together. These leaders were National Directors, Heads of School, Board Members, Project Leaders, Team/Region Leaders, Regional Leadership, and Global Service Leaders.

The Leaders Conference purposes were:

  • To equip leaders to contribute to our unified understanding of "leading beyond”: leading contextually while always thinking beyond the geographic and cultural boundaries.

  • To create time and space for leaders from all corners of TeachBeyond to do “life together”.

  • To introduce and engage with Leaders Core Competencies.

We began by reflecting and celebrating 70 years of Janz Team/TeachBeyond, listening and learning from God’s work in the past and building our own “stones of remembrance,” prompting us to live in the story, today and in the future.

100 of the leaders present served in some way, in plenary sessions, facilitating round table conversations, and fostering dialogue and learning. We worshipped, prayed, listened: in quiet and in animated conversations. We returned knowing that God has more for each of us as we are transformed by Him and carry His message even further to the nations.
