You'll Find Sanctuary in Horsham

“Sanctuary” is defined as both a refuge and a holy place. TeachBeyond’s Sanctuary in Horsham, England, fits both of those definitions.

Len and Mary Reed opened their first Sanctuary in Kandern, Germany, after serving as dorm parents at Black Forest Academy. When TeachBeyond opened its global office in Horsham, it seemed advantageous to relocate Sanctuary there, where it can serve multiple purposes.

It’s a place for TeachBeyond members to have a layover and regroup before returning to North America for home ministry or at the end of their assignment. It’s a place to relax, rest, and be encouraged. The Reeds have a gift for listening to people’s stories, and Len is a pastoral counselor.

They look forward to welcoming TeachBeyond members coming to Horsham to meet with President David Durance and others in the global office. One member used Sanctuary as a retreat to work on her master’s degree. The Reeds have hosted the Global Centre team for meetings, and Mary is a master at serving a British “afternoon tea” with homemade scones and clotted cream with jam.

Sanctuary has three bedrooms for overnight guests. “It’s very homey and comfortable,” says Mark Giebink, TeachBeyond's Global Member Care director. “Len and Mary have a passion for serving people, and we really appreciate the ministry they have at Sanctuary.”

You can contact the Reeds at [email protected]. Additional contact information and Sanctuary's address can be found here.
