Just outside Atlanta, the small city of Clarkston, Georgia has earned a name as one of the most diverse square miles in America — a landing place for refugees from around the world rebuilding their lives after unimaginable loss. Among them are children carrying learning challenges and special education needs that too often go unmet in the transition to a new country, a new language, and a new school system.

Beyond Barriers exists to serve these children right where they are, in Clarkston. Through specialized support, trained educators, and Christ-centered care, we walk alongside refugee children with special needs and their families, helping them move past the barriers of language, trauma, and learning differences to discover their God-given potential.
