1 Week Training
5 Weeks on Location
- Serve alongside other university students like you in a cross-cultural setting

How do I choose a Go Beyond location?
Each Go Beyond location offers unique cross-cultural experiences and ministry opportunities. As you explore your options and seek discernment, consider the type of ministry you are interested in, the culture and environment of each location, and where you sense the Lord leading you. If you have questions or would like to talk through your options, we would be glad to help.
Do I need to raise financial support for a Go Beyond trip?
While we encourage you to build a team of ministry partners who will pray for you, encourage you, and may choose to offer financial support, fundraising is not your only option. You are also welcome to self-support your Go Beyond experience.
How much does Go Beyond cost?
While we do not have the exact costs for each Go Beyond location yet, last year's trips ranged from approximately $4,000 to $5,000, plus airfare. Trip costs for Go Beyond 2027 will be added to the website at a later date.
What support raising resources will TeachBeyond provide?
You will be able to set up a personal giving page, access ministry partner development tips and resources, and receive support from our Donor Services Department.
What does a day in the life of Go Beyond look like?
To put it simply, you will be living, learning, and serving cross-culturally. While the exact details of your assignment will vary by location and day, you'll have the opportunity to join long-term workers in the ministries the Lord is using in that area. This could look like leading English camps, tutoring students, cleaning schools, partnering with local churches, participating in language lessons, exploring cultural sites, and supporting other ministry needs. Come ready to be flexible, as you may be surprised by how the Lord chooses to use you and what He teaches you along the way!
Do I need to be an education major to participate in Go Beyond?
No, Go Beyond is open to students of all majors! While you'll be serving through education as missions, you don't need to be an education major or have previous teaching experience to participate. What matters most is that you demonstrate a deep love for Christ and a willingness to learn, grow, and serve cross-culturally.
When is the application deadline?
The application deadline for Go Beyond is April 1. Earlier applications will have the first preference in choosing their location.
How do I apply for Go Beyond?
You'll start by completing an application and providing three references: one personal, one professional, and one spiritual. From there, you'll share your location preferences and have an interview. Once you receive preliminary approval, you'll need to complete a background check, make a trip deposit, and confirm your start and end dates. After all of these steps are complete, you will receive your welcome letter officially welcoming you to Go Beyond!
