ENLACE English Language Centre

ENLACE is an English/Spanish Language Centre which started in July 2023 to teach the local population in Mindo, Ecuador. The Language Learning Centre in Mindo aims to deliver high quality and accessible language lessons to local students of low income. 

Mindo is a beautiful small town in the cloud forest in Ecuador, 2 hours away from Quito, the capital. The tourist industry has grown incredibly in the past 10 years and there is a huge desire of people to learn English to improve their economies. Poor language education provision has made language skills inaccessible for most of the underprivileged population. Only those with the resources to pay for private tuition have the opportunity to become fluent in English, entrenching barriers to social mobility. We are a social small enterprise that is serving the Lord through quality holistic education.

ENLACE is the first non-profit English Centre in Mindo, offering a very low monthly rate of fees in order to make it accessible to all, which has proven to be enticing to many. We currently serve students of all levels (complete beginners to B2 CEFR) and all ages (including children, adolecents, and adults).

Mindo is a very safe town, hidden in a valley, with many available activities, such as walking, cable cart, zip lining, etc. In fact, it is considered to be one of the most important birding areas in South America. 

Within the natural beauty and peace of Mindo, the project aims to be a home for educators and provide them with the unique opportunity of living, learning and teaching in a paradise: Mindo. As a benefit for our volunteers, we offer Spanish lessons for free, if they require.
