Children typically spend over 30 hours per week in school, about 1000 hours per year. The public school system will use that time to train them in a secular worldview. Even if we are actively discipling our children at home, it’s hard to compete with that kind of influence. 

But what if we took that time back? What if we filled those hours with scripturally based, Christ-centred teaching about the world and our place in it? A space for discipleship that reinforces the discipleship at home?

The Westminster Catechism asks: “What is the chief end of man? To glorify God, and to enjoy him for ever.” The Bible tells us: “Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Rom. 12:2)

That’s why we’re here: Swift Current Christian Education Society Inc (SCCES) exists to glorify God. We want to see young people wholly transformed through Jesus Christ, set apart for his purposes, and living out a joy-filled relationship with God Almighty.

Children are precious to God, and therefore precious to us. Jesus said His kingdom belongs to such as these (John 18:16)! At SCCES, our goal is nothing less than a complete enculturation of our students, a “training up” in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph. 6:4). 

Academically, this looks like excellence. Although each of us is gifted differently, we can all do our best. In our school, real effort is rewarded, and challenging oneself is encouraged. The aim, in all of it, is to love God with our whole selves—heart, soul, mind, and strength.

SCCES is a non-denominational school with a desire to unite the body of Christ. We want to see generations of young people grow up strong in their faith, equipped to be servant leaders in any vocation, shining the light of Christ’s hope in the world.
