Bucharest Christian Academy (BCA) began educating the children of international workers fleeing Ukraine in March 2022. Most of the refugee children are fearful, overwhelmed, and traumatized by the events over the past year and a half. Without hesitation, BCA staff and administrators accepted students to live out their Mission and Vision as a safe place of peace, rest, learning, and growth.
School Director, Stefania T. reflects:
"I know, we're only a school...and we have them for a limited time... but it's faithfulness in the small mundane things of every day that God manifests his power. We want to be a source through which God's power flows".
TeachBeyond, a partner in transformational education, set up a mini–campaign raising over $18,000. 40% of the goal remains. 11 Ukrainian children re-enrolled for the 2023-24 school year, and 4 are on a waiting list. BCA expects 10 more students will enroll in January 2024 for the spring semester due to bitterly cold winter weather expected. With the help of donors, BCA will finance tuition for 15 students in the fall, and another 10 in spring. Extra funds costs incurred for English language learning help that Ukranian students need.
Bucharest Christian Academy provides quality education from a Biblical worldview as it seeks to prepare students academically, spiritually and emotionally to face challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Our faculty is excited that they can participate in serving refugee families by doing what they love, teaching. Will you help? Before you click to generously give, ask God to multiply our efforts and thank Him for bringing His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guarding our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus.
For His Glory,
BCA Board and Director
