Teach Exchange Connecting Global Educators with Christian Schools
Overview of Becoming a Teach Exchange School
Teach Exchange, facilitated by TeachBeyond, invites experienced Christian educators from around the globe to teach at Christian schools in the USA. This program aims to enrich accredited schools with international missional perspectives.
The Teach Exchange Program is not about filling a staff need. It’s about expanding global awareness, enhancing Christian cultural diversity, and equipping students for service in the Global Church. This program brings the global church to your community, offering students a fresh and inspiring perspective.
Benefits for Your School
- Quality Christian Teachers: We have over 50 years of experience working all around the world in education. Our staff evaluates their level of English, spiritual life, and teaching ability before your first interview.
- We Simplify the Paperwork: Nobody likes dealing with government paperwork. That's why we conduct a thorough interview process to ensure you receive pre-qualified candidates. We guide the teachers through the visa application process, so you don’t have to.
- Support: We support your school from the hiring process until the teachers return to their home country. We're here to answer questions and provide support throughout their entire term at your school.
- Streamline the Hiring Process: Our faculty profile "Look Book" streamlines your hiring process, providing an easy way to review pre-qualified candidates. Profiles include information about the candidates' qualifications, teaching experience, areas of expertise, and personal interests—allowing you to make informed decisions quickly and efficiently, ensuring you find the best match for your school's needs.
Commitment and Logistics
- What is the commitment from the teacher? 2-5 years under J-1 visa status.
- What will this cost the school? Host schools provide equitable wages and assist with finding housing and transportation arrangements in partnership with TeachBeyond alumni or a local church. Teach Exchange will work with the teachers’ visa, travel, and initial living costs at no expense to the school.
- What kind of support will Teach Exchange give our school? Teach Exchange supports teachers' financial needs on a case-by-case basis.
- How does Teach Exchange support the international teacher? Teach Exchange supports international teachers by guiding them through the hiring process, assisting with visa and transportation costs, and offering ongoing support throughout their entire term at the host school. We also help coordinate initial housing and transportation arrangements in collaboration with local partners.
- Does our school have to send a teacher to another country as part of the “exchange”? No, your school does not need to send a teacher to another country to participate in the "exchange." The program focuses on bringing international teachers to your school in the “exchange” of culture.
- How can we be confident in their degree and experience?
For the J-1 visa application, a credential evaluation is necessary to verify the equivalence of the foreign degree to a US undergraduate or graduate degree. This evaluation ensures that the applicant meets the educational requirements for the exchange program.
Teach Exchange connects qualified, English-fluent, missional educators with full-time classroom placements, aiming to make a lasting impact on students' lives while supporting the global mission of the church.
