El Camino Academy
El Camino Academy was founded in 1980 for missionary children, and today ECA continues to serve families in ministry, although the foreign missionary population is now under 5% of the total population. Over 90% of our students are Colombian and we regularly have about 15 other countries represented in our community. About 50% of our families spend at least 40 hours a week invested in Christian ministry. At least one parent is a born-again Christian and desirous of having a Christ-centered education. Families from around 100 different evangelical churches send their children to ECA so there is a marked interdenominational flavor to our worship and spiritual life. We have a school-wide focus on bilingual servant-leadership development, and being/making disciples. We have an international academic staff, mostly from North America and Colombia, but other countries represented include India, Spain, Argentina, Venezuela and Nigeria. ECA is in Bogota, the capital of Colombia. At 8,700 feet in the beautiful Andes Mountains, Bogota has over 11 million inhabitants and enjoys 65 degree F weather year-round
