AP English Language & Composition Teacher
Brief Description
The teacher will guide students in rhetorical analysis, academic writing, argumentation, and critical reading aligned with the College Board AP curriculum, preparing them for success on the AP exam and beyond.
Purpose of the Position
The purpose of the AP English Language & Composition Teacher position is to support HAB’s mission by delivering rigorous, college-level instruction aligned with the College Board AP English Language & Composition curriculum. The teacher will guide students in developing advanced skills in rhetorical analysis, academic writing, argumentation, and critical reading, preparing them for success on the AP examination and future university-level coursework.
The teacher is expected to foster a supportive, inclusive, and intellectually challenging classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, ethical communication, and academic integrity while contributing positively to the collaborative culture of an international school community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, English, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification
- Minimum of two years’ secondary teaching experience
- Experience teaching AP English Language & Composition strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of rhetoric, composition, and analytical writing
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, international environment
