AP World History Teacher
Brief Description
Seeking a qualified and committed AP World History Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. The successful candidate will deliver instruction aligned with College Board standards, design engaging inquiry-based lessons, assess student learning effectively, and support students in mastering both historical content and analytical writing required for the AP examination.
Purpose of the Position
The purpose of the AP World History Teacher position is to support HAB’s mission by delivering rigorous, college-level instruction aligned with the College Board AP World History curriculum. The teacher will guide students in developing historical thinking skills, including analysis of primary and secondary sources, contextualization, comparison, causation, and continuity and change over time.
The teacher is expected to foster global awareness, critical inquiry, and academic writing skills while preparing students for success on the AP World History examination and future university studies. The role also contributes to a respectful, inclusive, and intellectually engaging learning environment within an international school community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification is preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience
- Experience teaching AP World History strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of world history content and AP curriculum frameworks
- Ability to engage diverse learners in a multicultural, international school environment
