Chemistry or Physics Teacher (High School)
The Chemistry or Physics teacher will provide in-person classroom education for one week each month and educational support from a distance for students in the three weeks while they are at home. This teacher will engage the minds and hearts of about 3-8 students at a time in Chemistry and/or Physics to help them better understand and appreciate the world God created. Chemistry and Physics are our current science needs, but we also have need for help with high school math. Future needs could include Biology and Middle School Science.
We have textbooks and materials from previous years available (including a detailed scope and sequence), but teachers have great flexibility in crafting their own curriculum/syllabus and in choosing materials. We have sufficient supplies on hand for both basic chemistry and physics experiments.
The high school science teacher may also lead a small group during our daily chapel time, held during in-person teaching weeks. We love to see our students grow in their love for God and in their understanding of God's Word.
In addition to caring for the academic, social, and spiritual needs of our students, our aim is to enable families to serve in remote areas without having to send their teenager(s) to boarding school.
Teaching 1-2 courses would be considered part-time, so there is time available for language learning, family, and other interests. There are not required extracurricular activities for our teachers, but there are plenty of volunteer and ministry opportunities in the expat community here. These include helping with the youth group, teaching Sunday school, playing sports, and teaching ESL.
