Curriculum & Instruction Coordinator
Professional Development
- Share responsibility to plan, organize ,run, and evaluate annual professional development days/school improvement tasks with the C&I Director
- Consult with the divisional leaders regarding how best to determine and accomplish professional development and curriculum initiatives within their divisions
- Assist with new and returning staff orientation in collaboration with the C&I Director
- Oversee and promote the use of professional development resources such as books,magazines, DVDs, subscriptions, etc.
- Research educational trends and best practices to inform professional development
- Textbook and Resource Management
- Administer the process of selecting and approving new textbooks
- Administer the textbook inventory, checkout, repair, and disposal, and oversee the fine processes in consultation with the relevant stakeholders
- Oversee budgeting, ordering, shipping, processing, and distribution of textbooks and curricular and professional development materials selected in consultation with the divisional leadership and the C&I Team
- Consult with Admissions & Principals about class caps and their impact on textbook resources as directed by the C&I Director
Curriculum Development
- Administer the curriculum maps on the Curriculum Trak system
- Oversee Curriculum Trak training and curriculum mapping assistance for teachers
- Provide support in the process of alignment of curriculum and assessment with standards and GOALs to ensure a seamless academic curriculum across grade levels and divisions
- Maintain and support a curriculum review cycle that includes plans to choose/update subject standards and purchase new materials
- Maintain records of each subject review within the curriculum review cycle, including samples reviewed, commentary, and final choices
- Support principals as they assist teachers in the implementation of new standards and curriculum
- Present curriculum, textbook, new course, and policy changes to the C&I Director for approval
- Collaborate with the IT Department and other relevant stakeholders to connect staff training and technology initiatives with academic objectives
School Improvement and Accreditation
- Assist with the instructional portion of the self-study
- Uphold the curriculum standards of our accrediting agencies (ACSI, WASC, and ONESQA) and implement recommendations that relate to the instructional program in collaboration with the C&I Director
- Collaborate with the C&I Director to implement the schoolwide improvement plan as it pertains to professional development and curriculum and instruction and report on annual progress
- Oversee the assessment of student GOALs achievement and use that information to inform program decisions
- Facilitate standardized test selection and data analysis to ensure that assessment tools match the needs of our international students and data informs program decisions
Leadership
- Hold meetings when applicable with curriculum review teams
- Assist the C&I Director in developing the curriculum and instruction division budget, with input from the Curriculum team
- Organize & oversee K-12 Vertical alignment meetings
