Elementary Principal

Arbor Christian Academy (ACA) is seeking a qualified elementary principal to serve alongside our mission: "Equip the mind and educate the heart to impact the nation." 

Prior experience is required. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Core Purpose: To provide an exemplary Christian education, where students are provided with age-appropriate academic rigor and students and families have the opportunity to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with the school director in the leadership and management of the school
• Providing strong leadership to staff, fostering a positive school culture
• Overseeing the implementation of the curriculum, ensuring it meets educational standards and addressed the needs of all students
• Creating a safe and supportive environment, addressing student behavioral issues and implementing discipline and discipleship policies
• Working with the school director to plan team meetings and professional development opportunities, as well as hire qualified staff
• Evaluating teacher performance through regular walk-throughs and formal observations
• Connecting daily with students (welcoming them to school and building intentional relationships)
• Communicating clearly with parents, community members, and the local Ministry of Education
• Upholding and regularly updating personal leadership certifications, as required

At Arbor, our staff functions as a multi-cultural family. At any given time you may hear English, Spanish or Haitian Creole. This staff family, together, serves approximately 120 students K-6. Our school body consists primarily of Dominican and Haitian students, extending across a wide range of socio-economic statuses. Twenty-five percent of our student body receives tuition assistance, which is primarily funded by our community English program.

Arbor is located in San Fransisco de Macoris (SFM), the third largest city in the Dominican Republic. Located in the North-Central region, SFM is considered an agricultural town. Mix a bustling and growing city, surrounded by rice fields and mountains... and there you have San Fransisco. There is much to explore not far from our region, including diverse mountains, rivers, waterfalls and beaches.
