French language Teacher

We are seeking a French language teacher who is passionate about serving Christ to join the International Academy of Suriname in Paramaribo. If you are eager to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives within a Christ-centered learning community, we would love to hear from you.

Requirements:

• Holding a university Bachelor’s degree with a major or minor in French
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, effective lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and responsive to diverse student needs.
• Assess student learning regularly and provide constructive feedback to students and parents to support academic growth.
• Foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and independent learning.
• Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Communicate student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement clearly and consistently.
• Work with students, specialists, parents, and administrators to develop individualized education plans, independent study options, and academic remediation when needed.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of student academic performance.
• Commit to ongoing professional development to strengthen instructional practice.
• Model intellectual curiosity, integrity, responsibility, and respect, serving as a positive role model in and beyond the classroom.
• Adhere to school policies and collaborate with the Director, staff, parents, and the wider community in support of the school’s mission.
