Head of School
Juba Christian Academy was created to meet the educational needs of missionary families serving in South Sudan, so that families will be able to serve here. As we grow, administrative leadership is needed to guide the school to fulfill our vision of advancing the Kingdom of God by providing a high-quality Christian education for families serving in South Sudan. Working as head of school will involve providing support and direction for staff, directing school growth and helping the school to steward the resources that God has provided. The head of school also provides educational direction in the curriculum and teaching method, serving alongside missionaries from several different organizations and fostering a caring, family atmosphere in the school community.
As we are a small school (approximately 30 children), the head of school continues to interact with students in the classrooms in varying capacities requiring flexibility and creativity. Our diverse, cross-cultural environment requires listening with openess to diverse ideas, and adaptability. You must also maintain high standards and strong pedagological approaches to learning. Teacher recruitment and development are also an important part of this position. Leadership skills, educational experience and strong Christian commitment are required and experience with a cross-cultural environment is a definite plus in fulfilling the goals of this position.The head of school works with, and is responsible to, the school board which is made up of representatives of founding mission organizations and of parents.
