High School Science Teacher
Do you want to teach where the workers are few and the need is immense? Do you want to be involved in a project that is designed specifically to serve Global Workers anywhere in the country?
In our country, few educational options exist for the children of Global Workers. Some families manage homeschooling or local school at younger ages, but education in the teenage years often sends families home. Living Hope Education exists to enable Global Worker families to remain in a challenging country by providing an excellent educational option for both elementary and secondary levels.
Our high school is a Modular Study Group, an innovative and flexible educational solution which combines the best of traditional schooling, homeschooling, and online instruction. A flipped classroom, students work independently at home for three weeks per month to initially interact with new material; they then attend the campus one week per month for elaboration, enrichment, and assessment. This model allows families to remain together as they serve in their respective communities throughout the country.
For the position of high school science teacher, we are looking for someone who loves God, students, and science. The teacher must be able to effectively teach biology and chemistry. The teacher must have at least one of the following: a degree in a related field (science or education), teacher certification, or classroom experience.
The teacher will be responsible for planning and carrying out engaging and meaningful lessons, activities, projects, and experiments during the week of instruction. Furthermore, (s)he will assign, prepare, and offer assistance during the independent weeks. An American curriculum is used; full resources are available, but the teacher has ample freedom to adapt it to his/her style and preferences and the needs of the students.
