Librarian

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize library resources, including books, media, and digital materials
• Select age-appropriate, faith-aligned content and maintain a welcoming library environment
• Teach research skills and help students find and use information effectively
• Promote reading and provide guidance for both academic and personal interests
• Support Christian values by curating and recommending faith-based materials (including the Bible)
• Collaborate with teachers on curriculum, lessons, and research projects
• Assist with school events and literacy programs
• Handle administrative tasks like circulation, records, budgets, and supervision
• Model Christian character and ensure a safe, respectful space
• Support technology use and manage digital tools and resources

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s in Library Science preferred).
• Previous experience in a school, library, or educational setting preferred.
• Knowledge of library systems, cataloging, and age-appropriate literature for children and/or teens.
• Ability to support students and teachers with research, reading development, and information literacy.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with technology, including library management software and digital research tools.
• Ability to create a welcoming, engaging, and well-organized library environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to integrating a Christian worldview in interactions, materials selection, and library programming.
• Agreement with and support of the school’s mission, values, and statement of faith.
• Active participation in a local Christian church preferred.
