Lower School (P1-8) Music Teacher

A Lower School music teacher will provide grade level appropriate instruction in the basic fundaments of music and music appreciation.

Subjects and Classes: The teacher will be asked to teach classes in General Music (P1st-5th), and may be asked to teach Band (6th-8th) or Choir (7th-8th).

Age Group: Instruction will be given to pre-first through 8th grade students.

Time Commitment: This will be a full-time position with the expectation that the teacher will be available for other duties and will work from 8 am to 4 pm on a daily basis. 

Extra Responsibilities: Attend staff meetings, monitor recess and/or lunch duty (some days), help with school events.

Professional Requirements 

• A university degree in education and/or the subject area is required, and a teaching credential is preferred.
• The applicant must complete the ACSI Philosophy of Education requirement within three years of starting the position.
