Middle and High School Writing and Literature Teacher

Come inspire students in their love of reading and writing! You will be working with grades 8-12, providing students with books according to their ability, and building their writing skills! We follow a 5-year Literature cycle from ancient through modern times. 

Responsibilities:

• Assign students appropriate reading materials that aligns with our current history studies.
• Guide students through deep reading of books and understanding various literary elements such as character development, theme, allusions, allegory, and figurative language.
• Teach students how to improve their communication skills, both in essays and other forms of writing.

Requirements:

• You must be well-read and have a love for the English language
• Discernment of students skills and abilities
• Ability to differentiate levels within one classroom
• Either certification, teaching experience, or cross-cultural experience preferred (culture shock + teaching can be a hard combination!)

This position can be combined with other available positions at the school if there is interest.
