Physical Education Teacher (K-8)

A Lower School Physical Education teacher will provide grade-level appropriate instruction in the basic fundamentals of a variety of sports and physical fitness.

Subjects and Classes

The teacher will be asked to teach classes in Physical Education, and possibly Health. 

Age Group

Instruction will be given to Pre-1st through 8th grade students.

Time Commitment

This is a full-time position with the expectation that the teacher will be available for other duties and will work from 8 am to 4 pm on a daily basis.

Extra Responsibilities 

Teachers must attend all scheduled staff meetings. The teacher may be asked to coach an extra-curricular sport, monitor recess and/or lunch duty (some days), and help with school events.

Professional Requirements

A university degree in education and/or the subject area is required, and a teaching credential is preferred. The applicant must complete the ACSI Philosophy of Education requirement within three years of starting the position.
