Preschool Teacher Missionary Position
Are you passionate about Christian education and ready for a life-changing experience in Madrid? Northlight is seeking dedicated educators to join us in launching a brand-new Christian school in the northeastern area of Madrid. This is a unique opportunity to serve God from the ground up, shaping a new culture, building deep relationships, and making a lasting impact on students and their families.
We are a team of Christian believers from a local evangelical church, Iglesia Evangélica de Cobeña, with a vision that has been in our hearts for over 20 years and is now becoming a reality. Our mission is to establish a Christ-centered, English-speaking school that reaches entire families by planting the Gospel in the hearts of their youngest children.
This is a missionary-model position, where teachers serve missionary teachers in the field. To ensure our educators are fully prepared for this journey, we have partnered with TeachBeyond to provide expert training and specialized coaching to help you raise the necessary prayer and financial support for your living expenses, insurance, and travel.
What Northlight Provides:
- Housing Provided ($700/month value): To support our teachers, the school provides housing with a Christian host family from our local church. This is a unique opportunity for deep cultural immersion and faster Spanish language learning within a supportive environment. If you prefer more independence, and have the personal funds to cover your own housing costs, we will provide full assistance in navigating the local market to find a private apartment or a shared space with other teachers that meets your preferences.
- Vibrant Christian Community: You will be part of a supportive church environment with opportunities for Bible studies, ministry, and lasting friendships.
- On-the-Ground Logistics: We will guide you through every step of settling in Madrid, from opening a bank account to navigating public transportation.
As a primary educator, you will guide students using a curriculum that incorporates US Common Core. Our philosophy emphasizes an interactive, student-centered approach in small classrooms of 8-10 students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reflect the attitude of Christ in all interactions with students, parents, and peers.
- Deliver engaging units and center activities based on hands-on, discovery learning.
- Integrate a biblical worldview into all academic subjects.
- Manage diverse ability levels, providing necessary scaffolding for ESL learners.
- Model imaginative play, encouraging growth both inside and outside the classroom.
- Nurture a classroom culture defined by love, integrity, faith, and excellence.
Qualifications:
- Teacher training and/or previous teaching experience.
- Native or completely bilingual level of spoken and written English.
- Ability to teach through a Christian worldview.
- Basic computer literacy (word processing, email, and internet).
- Strong classroom management skills and a spirit of collaboration.
