Student Learning Support Coordinator
The Student Learning Support Coordinator will focus on developing and implementing inclusive education strategies that address diverse learner needs in global transformational school contexts. This emphasizes fostering a culture of inclusion aligned with organizational values to support holistic learner development.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Previous experience in inclusive/special education or a relevant field
- Previous teaching experience required, ideally more than 5 years.
- Minimum undergraduate degree in education; or related field of study
- Proven leadership and administrative experience, with the ability to provide consultative guidance and cultivate available resources to respond to needs
- Experience in school and program development is ideal.
- At least 2 years’ cross-cultural missions, preferably in areas related to existing TeachBeyond ministries
- Professional experience on staff in a faith-based non-profit organization, preferably within TeachBeyond
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Informal Education Inclusion Coordinator and School Services team to develop and implement a cohesive, organization-wide approach to inclusive education which meets learners' diverse needs (e.g. language of instruction, social-emotional learning, learning challenges/special education, academic, physical, spiritual, etc)
- Champion a culture of inclusion that affirms the dignity, giftedness, and holistic development of every learner to meet needs in alignment with TeachBeyond’s Statement of Inclusion.
- Develop frameworks and scalable models for learning support services appropriate for diverse global school contexts and resource levels.
- Guide family schools in establishing sustainable, contextually relevant learning support systems and programs that reflect best practices in inclusive and transformational education.
- Promote inclusive classroom strategies, i.e. differentiated instruction, scaffolding, and UDL that enable all students to access learning.
- Advise schools to strengthen holistic support structures (i.e. academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support) where gaps currently exist.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development for TeachBeyond members on the topics of inclusive practices and holistic learning support strategies.
- Develop and curate practical tools, resources, and guidance to strengthen holistic, inclusive classrooms within family schools.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to expand access to resources such as educational assessments, therapies, and specialized services
- Promote access to assessment tools and processes to better understand and respond to student learning needs
- Promote holistic approaches to student development, including academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth.
- Align learning support initiatives with School Services strategy and organizational priorities.
- Respond to emerging global needs by adapting services, resources, and training offerings.
- Monitor trends, research, and best practices for inclusive education and learning support.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning support initiatives and recommend improvements.
This opportunity is a remote and support based role; full-time or part-time. Pay is based on the applicant's own ability to raise funds for their salary; paid via donor or self-support.
