Upper Elementary Teacher

SCCLC is seeking highly motivated teachers who will be responsible for providing a nurturing, productive learning environment in keeping with the mission and vision of the school. They will provide day-to-day Christ-centered guidance to the students and will be the primary resources of the school.

The Upper Elementary Teacher is responsible for instructing students in different subjects. Creates lesson plans, administers praise and constructive criticism, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program.

Classroom Responsibilities: 

• Plan and deliver thorough, engaging, Christ-centered lessons consistent with the SCCLC mission and vision.
• Collaborate with students to create and complete cross-disciplinary individual work.
• Plans are consistent with the school’s educational philosophy and instructional methodology.
• Provide a safe, effective, and nurturing classroom learning environment.
• Identify students who are academically at-risk and initiate intervention strategies.
• Attend IEP meetings and oversee the implementation of additional educational support as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with the special education and psychology departments.
• Participate in all school-based professional development.

Leadership Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with colleagues to identify and address student learning needs and plan instructional units.
• Participate in school-wide planning to maintain continuity between classrooms and throughout the school.
• Contribute to staff and teacher meetings.

Community Responsibilities:

• Meet with parents on a regular basis and hold parent conferences.
• Participate and lead (as appropriate) field trips.
• Attend and participate in SCCLC community events.
