Our Need
Central Asia Boarding students enjoy proximity to their families who serve in remote areas of Central Asia. Long weekend and special event visits are possible when living on the same continent. Fewer time zones equals ease of communication and peace of mind.

CAB is happy to relieve the strain on family budgets. Lower cost-of-living translates to lower boarding fees. Shorter flights mean cheaper flights. CAB families will benefit from lower boarding costs.
This project started out as a $72,000 (USD) capital campaign in 2019. $22,000 (USD) has been raised through Global Partners.
Central Asia Boarding is now looking to broaden their fundraising base and have partnered with TeachBeyond in this effort.
PHASE 1: Hoffnung Haus
Start-up The Residence Program requires start-up funds preparing Hoffnung House for boarding students (academic year 2021/2022). Start-up expenses include construction on bunk beds, desks, and wardrobes. Kitchen cooking items, small appliances, and art and decor components are also needed. There are tech and musical elements as well!
PHASE 2: Initial Operations Project funds will also be used to help off-set initial programing costs during the launch period. Until the program reaches its break-even point, donations made provide for a well-rounded boarding experience for international students.
Our Story
Until now, boarding options available to Central Asia-based expat families were a day’s travel and several flights away. Founders, Steve and Rebecca Scott, who have called Central Asia “home” since 2003, share their story:
We first looked into a boarding solution in Bishkek as a result of our own need to provide secondary education for our four children.
Having placed our sons in the care of a boarding family, we recognize both the advantages of a Central Asia boarding option as well as the wider regional need.
Motivated by our belief that:
We are working together with Hope Academy of Bishkek to launch Central Asia’s first international boarding program.
Mission/Vision
Central Asia Boarding (CAB) provides worker families with residential solutions for their high school-aged children (grades 9-12).

Personal Story
Andy* is an American kid growing up in the former Soviet Union. He attended local Russian school through elementary, but is now enrolled in an English online school to bolster his mother tongue. The downside is that because of the time difference, his online classes meet in the evenings.
While his family eats supper, he's in class. When Andy's free during the day, his local friends are at school. His parents are concerned about how much time their extroverted son spends alone.
Andy would like to go to a boarding school in Europe. Flights, tuition, and board add up to almost $20,000/year and his parents just aren't sure they can raise that amount.
There are two realities Andy's parents see every day: (1) thousands of Muslims who don't know that Jesus can save them and (2) their son wilting in front of a computer screen.
