Integrating God Into Our Curriculum

How to integrate a Christian worldview into your classroom curriculum. That is the vision TeachBeyond has for each partner school. One way we put this vision into practice is to provide teacher-education sessions like this one recently held at Fateb Kinshasa Academy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
“We continued our teacher training series on this topic," Tammy Peters reports. “Over 40 teachers from six schools [five not associated with TeachBeyond] attended our two-day seminar. They were so eager to learn and apply what we taught. My colleague, Christy Ware Biscocho, who had just gotten married two weeks previously - bless her for coming! - taught and I translated. We are a well-oiled team by now!”
Christy says, “I think that this was our most powerful training ever. The teachers did not want to leave and asked for more time next year! My basic objective was to help the teachers see that God created everything, and his Truth is in every subject we teach. We talked about strategies for doing that and together we celebrated more of His Truth.”
She adds, “For my friends and colleagues in Kinshasa, my decision to be with them just two weeks after my wedding meant a lot to them and perhaps, reminded all of us of the importance of the work that we do.”
