TeachBeyond Child Sponsorship Welcomes FATEB Kinshasa Academy
We are very pleased to welcome FATEB Kinshasa Academy (FKA) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to our Child Sponsorship Program! This beloved TeachBeyond family school opened in 2015 and is our first African owned, managed, and staffed school. Starting with only 9 students, including staff children, this school has rapidly grown to serve over 160 students.
Fima, the National Director of TeachBeyond DRC, and the other staff at FKA are committed to seeing children transformed by the Word of God and equipping them to integrate their faith into every area of their lives. These educators see this transformation in individual students as a catalyst to transform their society to the glory of God!
Many parents in this region, especially single women, do not have the financial means to send their children to school to receive a quality education. By partnering with TeachBeyond’s Child Sponsorship Program, FKA hopes to enable more students in the community to receive a truly transformational education. They are praying for 31 children to be sponsored this school year - $35/month can make such a difference!
FKA’s school slogan is "Une vie changée qui change des vies.", which means “A transformed life transforms others." Not only will each student play a role in transforming others through the power of the Holy Spirit, but FKA also runs a teacher education program to equip other local schools to provide effective transformational education. Now that’s multiplied impact!
Fima thanks the Lord for all those who will sponsor a student at FKA, because he knows the incredible impact it will have on the students, their families, and the community. He shares, “We see how much joy there is in the lives of the children, and we see so many testimonies. The children say to each other when they come to school, ‘We want to stay here because there is peace; there is happiness at school!’”
