Central Asia Camps
Since 2016, excepting 2020 (Covid summer), a variety of summer camps (plus a few winter groups) have been held in three of Central Asia’s “Stans”. These “gatherings” chief purpose has been to introduce the Gospel to those who have never heard a deliberate and accurate accounting of God’s love shown through Jesus and invite them to a new life. Many have been made new even while living in Gospel-hostile environments of government oppression and cultural resistance. Through ongoing discipleship and involvement some have gone on to leadership in camp and church ministries.
Camps have included English language camps, outdoor adventure camps, and whole family-focused camps.
They have delivered – often to the poorest of the poor in some of these places.
Without funding, however, the number and reach of these camps will be limited even as the vision of camp leaders is to make them available in more of the “Stans”. Giving to this campaign will change lives in some of the hardest places to reach with the Gospel.
These camps are incredibly cost efficient monetarily. Based on 2025 numbers the average cost of providing a camp experience was about $150. Consider donating a multiple of this number as a sort of per person impact. If so inclined to give beyond this note that 3 of our four camps last summer ran for a little under $4000 each. Perhaps you or your church could consider this as a target gift.
Whatever you think or do regarding this ask, please pray for the upcoming camp season (and beyond).
