Primary School Teachers

We are seeking a passionate, growth-minded Christian educator, to join our dedicated team seeking excellence in Christian education. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students. They will plan and deliver high-quality lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure the academic, social, and emotional development of students.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum or school guidelines.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to meet the needs of all students, including differentiated instruction.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback that supports individual learning and development.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate students' understanding and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.

Classroom Management:

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and effective learning.
  • Establish and enforce clear rules and expectations for student behaviour.
  • Use positive reinforcement and restorative practices to handle classroom discipline.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with other teachers, school staff, and administration to enhance student outcomes.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and staff development activities.
  • Collaborate with support staff, including special education and teaching assistants, to meet the diverse needs of students.

Professional Development:

  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
  • Reflect on teaching practices and seek feedback for improvement.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to a culture of collaboration and professional growth.

Student Welfare:

  • Support students’ social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Recognize and respond to individual student needs and provide appropriate support.
  • Promote a safe and nurturing environment where all students feel valued and respected.

Other Duties:

  • Contribute to the wider school community, including involvement in extracurricular activities or school projects, such as Activity Week and field trips
  • Participate in school assessments, reporting, and other administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (or equivalent).
  • Teaching certification/qualification (specific requirements may vary by region).
  • Previous experience teaching primary-aged children is desirable but not required.
  • Strong understanding of primary education pedagogy and curriculum.
  • Knowledge of child development and behaviour management strategies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
