Ponder: List 5 things about God that you are thankful for. Sit quietly and speak your thanks to Him.

Scripture

… that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:16-19

First, listen for what this prayer says to you. Insert your name and imagine someone is praying this for you. Read the verses again slowly. What message do you hear?

Beyond the furthest star

Dear Christ-follower,

Wherever you are and in whatever state you are, be strengthened with the Holy Spirit’s power deep in your being. That your heart will be reminded of the truths you know of Christ – His love for you, the cost He paid to have you near, the power that He has given you to accomplish things for His glory. Stop, pause, and think about that last sentence. How does this apply to your life, right now?

The Almighty God abides – dwells, lives, spends time – with you. Just like His glory descended on the tabernacle where the Israelites would worship Him, so you are His temple – the place where His glory exists on earth in relationship with humanity. Not because of what we have done, but because of what Jesus finished on the cross!

Ask God to ground you in love, giving you a firm foundation that relies on His character and promises. Who is God? What is God like? How does God show His love to us?

As you reflect more on the character of the Lord, may you be reminded how wide and deep and long and high His great love and power is. Imagine something extending beyond the furthest star – that is a small example of how vast His love is for you, (insert your name here). Mull on these truths about God and meditate on these verses throughout your day, that you may be filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!
