Exciting News from FATEB Kinshasa, DRC

Exciting News from FATEB Kinshasa, DRC

We're excited to announce that FATEB Kinshasa Academy in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), is getting ready to celebrate their 10th year! They opened in September 2015. This year they are expanding to include High School grades with the addition of new classrooms.

Kitwit Construction"Construction isn't quite finished yet, but almost!" notes school director, Fima Héritier. He (laughingly) described this as "a small problem."

The school opened September 2 with a week of teacher training. The theme they chose for this year centers around "How to enable our children to succeed" and "Ensuring their progress and well-being."

As well, a new school has opened in Kikwit, DRC (500 kilometers/310 miles east of Kinshasa). An existing school that was started by European missionaries has been gifted for this purpose. The name of the new school is Kikwit Academy. They are using the Sparrow Project curriculum to train their new teachers. It was developed by the Sparrow Project core team.
