Making a Big Impact: TeachBeyond’s First Teachers’ Conference in Mexico

Making a Big Impact: TeachBeyond’s First Teachers’ Conference in Mexico
Held November 29-30, 2024.

“The first teachers’ conference organized by TeachBeyond Mexico, had a significant impact on my life. It empowered me to forge new connections with leaders and staff from Christian institutions. With love and passion, they obey the calling of God in their lives,” shares Mercedes Álvarez, Director of Escuela Ríos Educación Básica in Tamaulipas, Mexico. “It also provided the opportunity to engage with other organizations that can support us in this journey.”

There were 98 people registered for the teachers’ conference held in Queretaro, Mexico in November. “The conference speakers were from Uruguay, the Dominican Republic, the United States and Mexico,” notes Angelica (Tita) Camacho, TeachBeyond National Director for Mexico. There were also 45-minute workshops and time for praying together. Teachers and directors had time to connect with others to exchange ideas and experiences. “The sense of community and shared purpose was palpable,” declared Mauricio Pedroza from Querétaro Christian School.

Abigail Gil, a conference participant from Colegio Daniyyel shared, “We can stand together, support one another, pray for each other, and as a community develop strategies to bless one another. In doing so, we can make an impactful contribution to the transformation of these generations.”

“Personally, the conference was a great blessing,” said Neftali Briones Silva, General Director of Colegio Paideia in Aguascalientes. “Sharing and listening to teachers from other institutions, as well as analyzing the challenge we face in this distorted world, encourages us not to let our guard down. It inspires us to continue in prayer and action for the souls we interact with every day.”

Carlos de la Torre, Director of Mexico City Christian Academy said, “It was a profoundly enriching and motivating experience for my ministry in Christian education. The topics addressed—such as Transforming Mexico through Christian EducationThe Missional Calling of the Christian TeacherBiblical IntegrationClassroom CultureGender Identity and Hope in Christ, and Working with Mexican Parents—were not only highly relevant but also a great blessing. Each of these subjects positively impacted my perspective and encouraged me to continue advancing in my mission as a Christian educator.

He continues, “The overall atmosphere was ideal: open, participatory, and filled with opportunities for interaction, reflection, and mutual growth. It was a privilege to connect with other leaders and educators who share the same vision of transforming lives through Christian education. The quality of the speakers was outstanding. They shared their experience in a genuine and practical manner, making the sessions both informative and inspiring. Additionally, the round tables were an excellent opportunity to delve deeper into the subjects, exchange ideas, and learn from other attendees.

In conclusion, this conference was a great blessing to me, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have participated. I pray that TeachBeyond continues impacting lives and ministries in this way in Mexico and around the world.”
