English Academy Director
LIFE Language Center (TeachBeyond Argentina) is looking for an in-person Director for the Life Academy start-up, and ESL English Center for the Christian Community in Cordoba city.
The LIFE Director is a Gospel-centered, experienced, and qualified English teacher who is committed to journeying with their own teachers and students in their faith and in their value-based language learning. The Director will oversee helping select the teaching material and helping training Teachers. English Levels may range from A1-C1, to speaking classes.
Life Academy is part of Instituto Superior Moody: Argentina Teachers College that opened in March 2023.
Goal: To teach English to Moody’s Students (teachers-to be). The Teachers College wants to motivate and equip our teens and the youth with principles and life skills to know God, to know about their identity and their purpose, and to grow into their maximum potential to transform their lives and their context.
Responsibilities:
- Be a part of the team to select teaching material for Life Academy.
- Traing teachers on the program before classes start.
- Observe classes regularly.
- Provide ongoing professional growth opportunities based on the needs of the teachers based on feeback.
- Facilitate resources needed in the classroom.
- Complete administrative tasks, such as updating student records.
- Participate in making decisions on leadership and academics related to Life Academy.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents and teachers.
Qualifications:
- Degree in English Language, English Literature, or similar field
- Cross-cultural experience (preferred)
- Online teaching experience (preferred)
- Previous experience as an EFL/ESL teacher or similar role
- Great organizational and communication skills
- Great interpersonal skills with experience at leading groups.
- Proven leadership and administrative experience, with the ability to provide consultative guidance and cultivate available resources to respond to needs
- At least 2-years’ cross-cultural missions, preferably in areas related to existing TeachBeyond ministries
- Professional experience on staff in a faith-based non-profit organization, preferably within TeachBeyond
- Working knowledge of Office 365 tools for day-to-day business, including Outlook email and calendar, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
