Head of School
As the Head of School, you’ll lead a team of passionate teachers and support staff dedicated to providing a Christ-centered education. Mountainview Christian School primarily serves children from Christian service families in an English-speaking environment. Your mission? To nurture academic excellence, spiritual growth, and cultural sensitivity—all while keeping education affordable.
You’ll act as the school’s Chief Executive Officer, reporting to the School Board and ensuring MCS’s mission and policies are carried out effectively. As the “face” of MCS, you’ll represent the school to students, families, staff, the local Indonesian community, and government officials.

About Mountainview Christian School
Since 1981, MCS has supported Christian sending agencies by educating their children, alongside students from business families and those learning English as a second language.
- Accreditation: ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) and WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges).
- Curriculum: Based on American academic standards, taught in English.
- Staff: 35 teachers and 65 Indonesian support staff.
- Students: Approximately 220 in grades K-12.
The Head of School directly oversees key leaders, including the Elementary and Secondary Principals, Director of Administration, Dormitory Administrator, Management Advisor, and Facilities Director.
This role is a Christian service assignment requiring partial financial support through a recognized sending agency. A minimum five-year commitment is expected, including furloughs as per your sending agency's policies.
Your Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Recruit, onboard, and care for teaching and support staff.
- Supervise and evaluate administrators, teachers, and dorm staff.
- Support professional development and curriculum growth in partnership with administrators.
Strategic Leadership & Communication
- Serve as the key link between the School Board and school operations.
- Oversee policy development, admissions, and accreditation processes.
- Facilitate effective communication within the school community.
Community & Government Relations
- Represent MCS to the Indonesian government and local community.
- Ensure all legal documentation and government requirements are met.
Operational Oversight
- Manage budgets, school finances, and resource allocation with the Management Advisor.
- Oversee school facilities and teacher housing, delegating tasks to the Facilities Manager.
- Lead ongoing school improvement efforts in collaboration with school committees.
