Head of School - Central America
To function as the chief educational and operational officer of a school in Central America by overseeing school operations and supervising staff and maintaining a testimony for Christ within the school.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of Bachelors degree from an accredited college is required
- Experience in both direct instruction and the training of educating young students is strongly preferred
- Cross-cultural experience, preferably in areas related to existing TeachBeyond ministries
Technical Skills:
- Teaching certification
- Five years of experience working with kids
- Preferred school leadership experience
- Preferred curriculum development experience
- Ideal to have teacher leadership training experience
- Should be proficient with Google Drive, MS Office including Teams
Professional Skills:
- Excellent communication, problem solving, speaking, writing, motivational skills
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with boards, parents, teachers, students
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to analyze issues, plan for change and create and implement strategies
- Ability to teach and cultivate the skills of others
- Self-motivation with ability to conceptualize and take plans to action with minimal supervision
- Competence in using technology applications appropriate for school leadership and commitment to keep current with changing technical skills
- Engagement in continuing education, personal and professional development
Personal Skills:
- Mature Christian experience, sound judgment and professional skill

Essential Job Functions:
- Manage toward meeting the goal of the school’s strategic plan that is implemented and reviewed annually
- Maintain and be fiduciary for the annual budget in full collaboration with faculty/staff; managed and adhered to via real cost accounting principles
- Education programs lead to expected student outcomes and transformed lives
- Admissions policies that align with the school’s mission and support the teachers’ ability to serve students effectively
- Maintain clearly defined and implemented communication channels with faculty/staff and the school board
- Administration of a professional development program that addresses the spiritual and professional growth of the staff; reviewed for relevancy regularly and tracked for effectiveness
- Administration of fair compensation practices
- Productive leadership decisions, relationships and programs that are consistent with board policies
- Ensure the school facilities are well maintained and strategically utilized; ensure the safety and security of all school constituents
- Embrace and leverage technology for improved school operations, communications and educational outcomes as appropriate
- Contribution to review and development of school policies, procedures and protocols
- Understanding of and compliance with local regulations and liaison to the governing bodies
- Management of external communications and community relations
- Oversight and involvement with family and student relations and communications
