High School Social Studies Teacher

GDQ International Christian School seeks to provide a Christ-centered, academically enriching, international education for the missionary and international business community. We are looking for qualified educators who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and desire to grow in their ability to teach from a biblical worldview perspective.
As a high school teacher you will have the opportunity to engage in the lives of young adults, playing a part as they continue to develop intellectually, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
Courses: Global Perspectives / AP Human Geography
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge with the ability to deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age/ability of the class.
- Help students think about the subject matter biblically and critically (presenting information in such a way as to reveal the character, nature,or handiwork of God).
- Plan and teach well-structured lessons.
- Help develop and keep curriculum documentation updated, submitting weekly plans onto Google Drive and/or Curriculum Trak.
- Have a clear understanding of the needs of all students, including those with EAL and special educational needs and, thereby, adapting teaching and incorporating EAL strategies to respond to the needs and strengths of all students.
- Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge students.
- Make accurate and productive use of assessments, monitoring progress, setting targets and informing subsequent planning for learning.
- Promote student progress and outcomes by providing regular feedback verbally, in written form and on the Sycamore Education website.
Qualifications:
- A clear testimony of faith in Christ.
- An undergraduate or graduate degree
- Preferred: A valid teaching certificate.
- Open to raise financial support either personally or in partnership with a sending organization

Finances: Personal Support plus Monthly Allowance
All international staff provide for the majority of their financial resources. Most international staff partner with a sending/mission organization. Others have personal funds available. GDQ provides a monthly allowance that covers the cost of housing for most staff members and will reimburse annually (up to 1000 USD) travel costs between a staff member's home country and Albania.
