HS Science Teacher

You will work closely with students, families & teachers to provide support and guidance for academic, spiritual and socio-emotional development. Come serve with us and make an eternal difference! 

Responsibilities:

• Teaching Biology, Forensic Science, Environmental Science, and Physics, including labs.
• Design and update lesson plans and curricula that adhere to TEKS or Common Core standards and schools’ guidelines.
• Identify students with special requirements and create individualized plans. 
• Use a variety of teaching materials and activities, including the use of educational software and online tools.
• Assign homework and interesting exercises
• Determine exams and assignment grades
• Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, grades, and progress in a timely manner
• Provide constructive feedback from a growth mindset 
• Manage classroom to facilitate Christ-like behavior and a safe learning environment
• Create a positive learning environment that promotes active participation, critical thinking, and creativity
• Collaborate with parents on improving students’ development
• Collaborate with teaching staff and administrators to foster a good student experience
• Participate in daily devotions, chapel, and other meetings with faculty and staff

Teacher requirements:

• A calling to serving Christ through education
• Bachelor's degree in Science or Biology (preferably with a teaching certificate from a Christian teaching college in the U.S. or Canada).
• A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ, grounded in the Word.
• A commitment to modeling Christlike behavior in and out of the classroom.
• Native English speaker.

To assist our teachers we offer a monthly stipend along with free housing, utilities, phone, internet, and health and dental insurance. Additionally, we cover the cost of the first and last airfare. For minor dependent children, we provide scholarships. Professional development is facilitated through partnerships with MISCIO, Southeastern University, ACSI's Professional Development Board, professional development days, and on-site training.
