Primary Teacher
The teacher communicates their subject matter in a manner that reflects the school’s philosophy, mission, values and goals to achieve expected student outcomes. International Academy of Saint Petersburg is committed to providing a quality international Christian education in English. We educate the whole student in a nurturing environment. We believe in developing students spiritually, academically, and culturally.
The Supervisory Classroom Teacher provides classroom instruction that is superior in quality, and consistent with Christian educational principles in a multicultural context.
Spiritual Roles:
- Seek to be a role model in speech, actions, and attitudes modeling a consistent walk with Jesus Christ.
- Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students and administration and is respectful and loyal to constituted authority.
- Openly share God’s gift of salvation.
- Nurture students’ faith and spiritual development.
Professional Duties:
- Attend scheduled devotions, faculty meetings, and professional in-service training.
- Seek the counsel of the Department Head, Resource Teachers, Principal, colleagues, and parents while maintaining a teachable attitude.
- Demonstrate a willingness to cooperate with the Department Head and Principal to find solutions to problems.
- Know the procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature.
- Supervise student teachers, aides, and volunteers as needed.
- Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the Department Head.
- Know and abide by the policies set forth in the Staff Handbook.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a degree in education or in the specific area of teaching.
- Teaching Certification
- Classroom experience.
- Commitment to professional development.
Our expatriate teachers and staff serving full-time at International Academy do so using their profession to serve expatriate families. Staff who are invited are responsible for raising their monthly financial support. We do not offer a salary.
