School Counselor

We are looking for a school counselor with experience, who can provide assistance to the learners and staff through counseling. 

The School counselor serves the social and emotional needs of the learners and staff. The counselor is expected to help the individuals through assessing, counseling, and providing solutions when needed. At SIS, the desire for the counseling program, in general, is preventative in nature. The school counselor is expected to also serve as a guidance counselor to the learners. 

This is a new position, and we would love to have someone who can develop this position and its responsibilities effectively. 

We are a private, coeducational school serving Kindergarten, Primary, and Lower Secondary students. Responsibilities:

• Identifying issues affecting school performance
• Addressing social or behavioral problems
• Helping students develop skills needed for success
• Helping students achieve goal
• Counseling individuals and small groups
• Assessing students’ abilities and interests
• Maintain accurate records in confidentiality.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in counseling
• A counseling license is preferred 
• Proven experience working with children in a similar role
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
