School Director
The International Christian School of Budapest (ICSB) exists to serve families by providing their children with an excellent, biblically-based, college-preparatory education, in an environment that encourages them to become wholehearted followers of Christ.
Position Overview
The Director is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and direction of ICSB. The Director is appointed by and accountable to the Board of Trustees, working collaboratively under a policy governance model.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizational Leadership
- Cultivates and upholds the school’s mission, vision, culture, and values
- Provides strategic direction and aligns staff with the visiob
- Implements the Board-approved strategic plan
- Supervises school leaders to ensure optimal performance
- Builds community and fosters effective communication among all stakeholders
- Educational Leadership
- Recruits and oversees teachers and staff committed to the school’s mission and educational philosophy
- Leads continuous improvement in curriculum, instruction, spiritual formation, and professional development
- Maintains accreditation with appropriate agencies
- Operational Leadership
- Ensures efficient operations and maintenance of facilities and resources
- Manages the budget to maintain financial stability.
- Secures adequate funding for instructional and operational needs
Qualifications:
Christian Commitment
- Devoted Christian with a vibrant faith evident in daily life
- Wholehearted agreement with the ICSB Statement of Faith (found in the school’s Foundational Statements)
- Commitment to ICSB’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Philosophy of Education, and Code of Ethics and Conduct
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (required), Master's (preferred or willingness to pursue)
- Willingness to serve under a policy governance model
- ACSI Head of School Certification obtained or maintained
Educational Leadership Experience
- Proven experience in leadership
- International education experience (preferred)
- Deep understanding of Christian education and American education, including best practices, curriculum, instruction, and student development
- Experience in staffing, budgeting, infrastructure development, instructional leadership, school operations, and strategic planning
- Experience in leading organizational change
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication and relational abilities across diverse constituent groups and cultural backgrounds
- High work capacity, and ability to effectively manage time and complexity
- Proficiency in Microsoft O365 and aptitude for learning digital communication tools, and student information systems
- Physical stamina and capability to meet the demands of the role; commitment to maintaining personal well-being to fulfill job responsibilities effectively

- Minimum five-year commitment
- Personal affiliation with an ECFA-recognized mission agency
- Willingness to raise any additional financial support needed above the compensation package
