Secondary Geography Teacher
Grace International School is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Secondary (High School / Middle School) Geography Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality geography education to secondary school students in alignment with the English National Curriculum (ENC). A teaching license or certification is required, and knowledge of the ENC is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging geography lessons that adhere to the English National Curriculum standards and objectives.
- Utilise a variety of teaching methods and resources to facilitate student understanding and application of geographic concepts, including maps, data analysis, and fieldwork.
- Foster a collaborative and inquiry-based learning environment where students are encouraged to explore geographic issues, think critically, and develop problem-solving skills.
- Design and conduct fieldwork experiences and investigations that allow students to apply geographical knowledge and skills in real-world contexts.
- Assess student progress through a range of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students, including those with varying levels of prior knowledge and experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that integrate geography with other subjects.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide events as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Teaching license or certification required.
- Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum, with previous experience teaching within this framework preferred.
- Passion for geography and a commitment to fostering student curiosity and understanding of the world.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
- Experience with inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, and hands-on fieldwork instruction.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student learning and development.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
