From Potential to Possibility

Every child has potential, but sadly, not every child is given the support needed to reach that potential. Mariam* lives in a small, Ugandan village with her hardworking mother who works multiple jobs to support her family. Despite the financial hardship, her mom saw Mariam’s potential and was determined to provide her with a quality education, knowing it would be a steppingstone to a brighter future.

In their search, they found and fell in love with Elwa Sunrise School, but the family did not have the financial means to send Mariam there. Thanks to a sponsor, the dream to attend this school became a reality, and it didn’t take long for her true brilliance to shine! Because of her zeal for learning, Mariam quickly rose to the top of her class and became a natural leader among her peers, not only because of her academic excellence, but also because of her character and integrity.

As Mariam continued to excel, her confidence grew, her peers developed a great respect for her, and she inspired other students to pursue excellence. Her teachers were amazed to see the transformation in her life and the ripple effect it created in the school community.
