It depends on the role. For classroom teaching positions, it's up to the individual school, some roles do require a teaching certificate or a few years of classroom experience. But a lot of positions on the Opportunity Board are school-supporting roles, like design, finance, or maintenance, that don't need a teaching certificate at all. Check the specific listing or reach out and we'll help you find a fit.

Most roles on the Opportunity Board are support-based, which means raising financial and prayer support. While it may seem daunting, support raising is an opportunity to invite others into ministry with you and see the Lord provide. We'll equip you with helpful information to get started and a coach to walk with you along the way!

There are many couples and families serving with TeachBeyond! A number of our partner schools are set up for missionary families, with housing, schooling for kids, and community built in. Let us know in your application if you're applying as a couple or family and we'll help you find postings suited to that.

Most placements require a two-year commitment, although some may be open to a semester or a year. We also have short-term opportunities, including camps and substitute teaching, if you want to test the waters first.

Need varies by school and season, but core subjects like English, math, and science are consistently in demand, along with early childhood and elementary teachers. Administrative and support roles are regularly open, too. Browse the Opportunity Board for the current list, since it changes as schools' needs change.

Long-term positions are a full school-year (or multi-year) commitment where you're part of a partner school's faculty. Short-term opportunities, like summer camps or short teaching trips, are a lower-commitment way to serve and see if overseas teaching is a fit before applying for something longer.
